Making a little boy’s dreams come true
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - A boy from Jouberton was all smiles last week when Rio Casino helped his dreams come true.
The casino partnered with the Reach for a Dream Foundation to make Tsiamiso Swanepoel’s dreams come true. He is very sick and dreams of being a chef one day. He also really wanted a Playstation 5.
Ten-year old Tsiamiso and his family visited the resort on Friday May 24 when the executive chef, Bongo, gave him a taste of what it feels like to be in the kitchen by assisting him in making his own pizza. With the PS5 he also received a soccer ball, Manchester city T-shirt, slippers, scarf and beanie.

Tshepong’s first open heart surgery
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The medical team, hospital management and NW MEC were in a jubilant mood this week when they announced the first open heart surgery done at Tshepong Hospital. This ground-breaking operation was done on Friday May 24 when Martha Vanstawel (38) of Jouberton spent almost seven hours in theatre. This was the first procedure of this nature in the 46 years since the hospital was opened.
Grant payments next week
