Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Bodybuilders will be in action at the IBFF North West Classic on Saturday June 1 that will be held in the school hall of Laerskool Saamtrek. Athletes will compete in more than ten categories that range from novice to the more senior categories for over 70 year olds. Fitness and Wellness models in men and women categories will also be announced. This show is a qualifier for the IBFF Mr and Miss Universe title. The show starts at 13:00. Lentswe, Orkney  A Lesotho man appeared in the Orkney Magistrates Court on Monday May 20 for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. Tankie Hleloane (33) is still in custody and will appear in court again on Monday May 27. He was apprehended on Friday May 17 during Operation “Vala Umgodi” held in Kanana.  According to Col Adele Myburgh, police spokesperson, the Vala Umgodi  team followed-up on information received about a certain house that was allegedly rented by illicit miners. While the police were searching through the house, a revolver and 51 rounds of ammunition were allegedly found hidden in a cylinder in Hleloane’s room, leading to his immediate arrest.
Myburgh added that the “Vala Umgodi” deployment in Rustenburg seized a large quantity of mining equipment and arrested seven suspected undocumented persons in the disruptive illegal mining operation conducted in Tlhatlhaganyane village on Sunday May 19.

Lentswe, Potchefstroom - The police in Potchefstroom picked up on a worrying statistic. Since February 2024 a total of 12 thefts of Toyota Hilux vehicles as well as two attempted theft cases were reported in Potchefstroom. Hot Spot areas include shopping centres close to the R501 road that leads from Potchefstroom to Carletonville as well as the sport grounds close to the North West University and Potchefstroom Country Club.
