Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Life Anncron Hospital is proud to announce the successful culmination of its comprehensive Emergency Unit Campaign, with a well-attended Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) training session for the local community.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in the hospital’s commitment to enhancing emergency preparedness and fostering a healthier, more resilient community in Klerksdorp and the surrounding province.

The campaign kicked off with vital training for local paramedics, strengthening the professional response to medical emergencies.

This was followed by the popular “Mini-Medics” program, which engaged children aged 5-14 in basic first aid, inspiring a new generation of potential lifesavers. The campaign’s final phase, the Adult BLS training, extended these critical skills directly into households, empowering at least one person per family with essential life-saving techniques.

Participants learned CPR, how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and how to manage choking incidents, equipping them to act decisively in emergency situations. “We are incredibly proud of the success of our Emergency Unit Campaign and the overwhelming commitment shown by the community,” says TJ Mokoena, Marketing and Communications Manager at Life Anncron Hospital.

“This initiative has truly been a collaborative effort, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who held hands with our hospital facility, from our dedicated paramedics and staff to the enthusiastic mini-medics and every community member who participated in the BLS training. Your commitment directly contributes to building a stronger, more prepared Klerksdorp.”

Life Anncron Hospital remains dedicated to providing world-class, affordable healthcare and looks forward to continuing its partnership with the community to ensure a safer and healthier future for all.
