STELLALANDER-VRYBURG: Die Vroue-Landbouvereniging (VLV) van Vryburg het 2025 op ’n hoogtepunt afgesluit en trots teruggekyk op ’n jaar vol uitsonderlike prestasies.
By die jaarlikse prysuitdeling en afsluitingsfunksie op Woensdag, 19 November is lede se harde werk en toewyding erken en gevier. Reeds vroeg in die jaar het die tak groot sukses behaal toe Vryburg VLV in Maart die eerste plek by Sirkel Kalahari se konferensie losgeslaan het.
1 250 Suspects arrested during Safer Festive Season Operations
STELLALANDER-VRYBURG: The North West police have reaffirmed the authority of the state through the arrest of 1 250 suspects during the weekly integrated and multidisciplinary Safer Festive Season Operations.
The arrests were made between Monday, 17 November and Sunday, 23 November 2025, and involved suspects linked to a wide range of crimes, including residential and business burglaries, aggravated robberies, murder, rape, drug dealing and possession, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Of the 1 250 suspects, 423 were traced and arrested by detectives, specifically those listed as wanted suspects.
Heavy rains flood North West roads
STELLALANDER-VRYBURG: Persistent heavy rains have left several major routes across the North West Province partially submerged, causing traffic disruptions and prompting warnings for motorists to remain vigilant.
The affected routes include the R24 between Rustenburg and Magaliesburg, the N12 between Klerksdorp and Stilfontein, and the N18 outside Mahikeng towards Vryburg near Uplands. While no major incidents have been reported, authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution on the R30 between Klerksdorp and Ventersdorp, as well as the stretch between Derby and Ventersdorp. Several roads that have experienced flooding in the past remain areas of concern. These include the R503 near Hartbeesfontein, the N4 near Dinokana, the N14 between Sannieshof and Delareyville, and parts of the R52 between Koster and Lichtenburg, as well as between Koster and Rustenburg.
