New Rotary president asks for unity

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Rotary Club of Klerksdorp welcomed its new president, Willie Venter, at a glamorous Gatsby-themed event.

The club ushered in a new era in July with the induction of Venter as its new president. The event dazzled guests with vintage flair and celebration.

President Venter, known for his deep passion for bees and environmental sustainability, delivered a heartfelt inaugural speech that seamlessly tied his personal interests with Rotary International’s 2025-2026 theme of “Unite for Good”. “We can achieve incredible things when we come together with purpose,” Venter said.

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - ‘n Duiweveiling blyk een van die beste maniere te wees om geld in te samel - veral na die groot sukses van verlede week se veiling by Hoërskool Wesvalia.

Die skool het saam met die Westelike Posduifunie so ‘n veiling op Donderdag 31 Julie aangebied om fondse in te samel vir ‘n astro hokkiebaan wat in beplanning is. ‘n Honderd duiwe is by die geleentheid opgeveil en groot pryse was op die spel vir die wenduiwe. Francois Lotter het die meeste vir ‘n duif betaal: R7 200! Sy duif het tweede in die wedvlug geëindig en hy het ‘n bewerkte halwe bees ter waarde van R10 000 gewen.

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Gaste het gesmul aan die verskeidenheid geregte wat by vanjaar se Triest wildsfees opgedis is.

Wildsvleis is ‘n lekkerny wat jy nie aldag kry om te eet nie. Diegene wat Triest se jaarlikse wildsfees op Vrydag 1 Augustus bygewoon het, is dit eens dat die geregte eersteklas was en daar was oorgenoeg om te eet. Niemand het honger huis toe gegaan nie.

Beloved Schalkie to take Rio Casino by storm

NW accelerates the red meat industry

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (NW-DARD) has committed R36.856 million to the Red Meat Industry Development and Enhancement Programme, a targeted intervention aimed at repositioning the province as a major player in South Africa’s red meat economy.

Announced last Wednesday July 23, by MEC Madoda Sambatha during his Department’s Policy and Budget Speech at the North West Provincial Legislature, the programme is set to directly benefit 7 242 farmers including 4 728 men, 2 219 women, 252 youth, and 43 people living with disabilities, through structured production support, access to value chains, and market integration.
