Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Three suspects were arrested following a house robbery and subsequent shootout with security officers in La Hoff.
The robbery on Friday September 26 was called in to security control rooms at approximately 09:43 at a residence in Irvine Street.Klerksdorp Record was told that the victim who was away from home at a doctor’s appointment received a notification to check her camera application, when she observed people moving inside her house. She immediately contacted her husband to alert security. She rushed home and upon entering the house, encountered three masked men fleeing from a bedroom.
Security officers arrived on the scene shortly thereafter. Shots were fired at the officers as the robbers fled the property and dispersed into the surrounding neighbourhood.
A search operation with the help of security agencies and civilians resulted in the apprehension of suspects. The individuals were taken into custody but have not yet been formally charged.
Police confirmed they managed to steal a laptop and jewellery from the premises. A fourth suspect got away.
