Team Tom attended the Kiwi Cup development tournament under the Shinkyokushinkai banner at the YMCA Garankuwa dojo. The young, inexperienced karatekas did exceptionally well, winning eight trophies after they registered 13 participants, mostly taking part in a competitive event for the first time. Team Tom is preparing for the next Matlosana Karate Cup which will be held on March 8-9 next year at the Banquet hall in Klerksdorp. Tladi Stoffel, Refilwe Antone, Koketso Monogwe, Oratile Sapelo and (front) Lethabo Motswagae, Lethabo Mongale, Remoletile Moitsemang and Kagisho Mogotlwane competed.

 

 

Nikolaos Loupellis from team North West has emerged as the overall winner of the African Continental Championship in the Classic Division at the IPC Africa Level IV Handgun Championship, held from September 24-28 in Stilfontein. The event featured competitors from 28 countries and served as a crucial preparation for the upcoming World Shoot 2025, scheduled for the same time next year. Loupellis’ impressive performance has set a high standard as participants gear up for the global competition. Natasha Willemse is wowing judges at bodybuilding competitions. She is competing in the “natural” categories. She competed at the Africa Cup that took place in Johannesburg on Saturday October 5 and won the bikini category as well as the glamour model (over 1.71 metre) category. She is seen with LeChé Hendry, one of the judges. Natasha’s coach is Nick Sasol, president: UIBFF.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

RKG Karate took part in the Global Traditional Martial Arts (GTMA) National Championships 2024 on Saturday October 5. Sensei Nathen Olivier took part in boys 15-18 year’s Black Belt division. He is the new GTMA National Kata/Forms Champion as well as the new GTMA National Weapon Kata Champion. He placed second in Continuous Sparing (kickboxing). Tumi Kedamile took part in boys 15-18 years white - green belt division. He is the new GTMA National Kata/Forms Champion, received second place for Continuous Sparing, second for Point Sparing and placed third for Combat Weapons.
