Klerksdorp cyclists, Team Midas/Autorama won the 2024 Maluti Double 90 title. The team is made up of Alex Strachen, Gerhard van der Westhuizen, Harold Myburg, Barend Swanepoel, JC Jooste, Pieter van Heerden, Dusty Day, Deon Calder, Jaco van Dyk, Johan Kruger, Francois Lotter and Carl Elliott. The team dominated the 180km race which started and finished in Clarens.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The winner of last weekend’s Two Oceans Marathon is a child of the Northwest: Onnelenna Khonkhobe. He recently moved to Jouberton and runs for the Nedbank Running Club.

He started running marathons only two years ago and that same year set a new record in the Klerksdorp Marathon in 2022.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Ahead of next week’s semi-finals, it was all-out action in the last round-robin encounters of the 2024 FNB Varsity Cup. 

The FNB NWU Eagles were victorious over FNB UCT Ikeys, while FNB UFS Shimlas navigated their way past FNB Wits. FNB Maties beat FNB CUT and FNB UJ outclassed FNB UWC. 

FNB NWU Eagles secured a home semi-final following a hard-fought 30-18 victory over FNB UCT Ikeys at the Fanie du Toit Sports Ground in Potchefstroom on Monday April 8.
