NOORDWESTER- LICHTENBURG - Recently the Movement of men which is called God; Restore Our Good Life (GROGL) with motto the “Men Of Action Walking Together” gathered the Lichtenberg casual job seekers who are usually found in the corners and cross roads of Lichtenburg.
This Movement under the Chairpersonship of Dr Daniel Buthelezi met these local casual job seekers around Lichtenburg with the purpose of finding one another in terms of addressing the triple challenges of life within our society relating to poverty, unemployment and inequality.

Dr Daniel Buthelezi was accompanied by Rev. Molefi Lesley Morubane and the Treasurer of GROGL Mr Thapelo Mvundisi.
The gathering intended to instill hope, confidence and self-esteem in these men so as to know their importance and also still needed by the society.
These men during the engagement session raised some heart-breaking stories relating to their frustrations and challenges they usually encounter on a daily basis. They confined that to be at the cross roads of the main roads of Lichtenburg is not something to be proud of and it is not easy, but they are compelled by their various circumstances. The conditions are so difficult and emotionally touching to live under, because at certain times they get humiliated and insulted by different prospective temporary employers and other people. Some of these people take advantage of them to the extent that at certain circumstances they refuse to pay them what they initially agreed upon.
They do not only face humiliation only on the streets even within their families and communities.
They so wish that their temporary employers could understand the pain they endured when they go back home if they did not obtain that piece job. They said despite how little that R150 or R200 per job is, to them that amount speaks a lot because it makes a difference to their families because they are at least able to put bread on the table.
These casual job seekers also acknowledged with disappointment that amongst them there are those who are not trustworthy because of theft when given opportunities and they end up been painted in one brush. We have noticed with appreciation that amongst some of them, there are those with different informal skills like painting, carpentry, plumbing, building, plastering, paving, tiling, roofing, external designing, gardening, mechanic and many others. They pleaded with GROGL to create an environment to at least be given attention and consideration.
GROGL however showed sympathy and empathy towards some of them after hearing how desperate they sounded and willing to work. GROGL shared with them the moral and legal values in terms of job seeking like lack of showing commitment when the opportunity has emerged.
They were also advised to desist from stealing when given an opportunity of employment because around town there is an outcry of the acts of crime they commit. However, GROGL showed commitment to try and assist where it can find that possible.
GROGL through the voice of the Chairperson Dr Daniel Buthelezi encouraged these men to never loose hope irrespective of the hardships they go through on daily basis. He assured them that one day God will hear their cries and their lives will definitely be restored to the better. It is in the interest of reducing crime statistics in Ditsobotla, when GROGL raised its voice in an understandable and honest tone to those with work opportunities to consider these men for employment.
We request those who are sometimes skeptical with some of the characters in this particular field to contact GROGL on its WhatsApp on 084 550 0278 to ensure that they motivate these men to approach every work situation with positive attitude and commitment in order for them to be considered for more work situation with positive attitude and commitment in order for them to be considered for more work opportunities.
At the end of everything we agreed to have these regular meetings on the 28th of every month.
As “Men Of Action Walking Together” we request our society to support these casual job seekers to mitigate on crime, starvation, poverty and unemployment. The intention is to restore the good life as our fundamental goal.
