NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - The Lichtenburg SAPS CPO, in conjunction with CPF and Crime Prevention Youth Desk representatives have through divine intervention raised a Spiritual Crime Prevention GBV Awareness Campaign today at the station.
In attendance of this campaign was representatives of the station’s Spiritual Crime Prevention desk, different Faith Based Organisations, Department of Social Development, Department of Health, Thusanang Trauma Centre, New Beginnings Support Group and Refentse Men’s Forum.
Groen lig vir Mediese skool
Die minister van gesondheid, dr. Joe Phaahla gee die groen lig vir ‘n 11de Mediese skool by die Noordwes-Universiteit (NWU). Dit mag ‘n beduidende ontwikkeling vir Suid-Afrikaanse gesondheidsorgonderrig word.
Die minister se steun is die gevolg van volgehoue pogings deur die NWU Mediese Skooltaakspan, gelei deur Bert Sorgdrager, voorsitter van die NWU-Raad, en ondersteun deur sleutelfigure soos die NWU se visekanselier prof. Bismark Tyobeka en kanselier dr. Anna Mokgokong.
Coligny biblioteek bly besig
NOORDWESTER – COLIGNY – Tydens die Desember vakansie het Coligny biblioteek, onder moeilike omstandighede, steeds vir die kinders ‘n vakansie program aangebied.
Henriët van Loggerenberg (Bibliotekaresse) saam met haar twee Biblioteek assistente, Mandie Rademeyer en Lourens Mahlonoko, het vinnig planne gemaak.
Die personeel sê hulle beoog om nog programme aan te bied vir die kinders in die toekoms. Die kinders het dit baie geniet om verskillende artikels te maak gedurende die progamme.
Campaign on fraud and property related crimes
NOORDWESTER - LICHTENBURG - SAPS representatives Community Policing Officer Lerato Matli and Youth Crime Prevention Desk, Intern Molebogeng Maleshane embarked on a Community Outreach Campaign in the Lichtenburg CBD (town) on property related crimes and fraud on 4 January 2024.
Fraud impacts people, the economy and the environment.
Understanding the total impact of fraud allows individuals to make better informed decisions.
Cruelty to animals
NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG – Dierewelsyn is such an important shelter and safe haven in town with the least dedication and humanity from a great majority of residents.
It is very sad. Animal cruelty is something very hard to control or even change, although it can be reported to NSPCA or other institutions, it stays a distressing and heartbreaking matter. With this article we hope to create some awareness to limit the cruelty here in town.
During December a man threw a kitten out of a moving car in Bantjes Street. Luckily, it was seen and rushed to the Dierewelsyn where it was treated and now doing very well in its adopted home. Thanks to the swift action of people, it suffered no further harm.
