BRITS POS – BRITS - The Police in the North West Province, working with other law enforcement agencies, conducted high-density, intelligence-led, joint law enforcement operations under Operation Shanela 2 throughout the province between Monday, 11 and Sunday, 17 August 2025. The operations included the setting of 11 roadblocks, searching of 443 premises, 3 004 persons and 1 197 vehicles.

BRITS POS – BRITS – Op die Wagpospad, noord van die Hoërskool Wagpos, lyk dié pad soos ‘n pad behóórt te lyk nadat dit herstel is, maar die kilometers tot in Brits, is ‘n nagmerrie met talle ontsettende diep slaggate wat veroorsaak dat daar van die pad af gery moet word tot op die grond, waar daar ook reuse slaggate is.
Police urge the public to be vigilant about hijackings
BRITS POS – BRITS - The South African Police Service (SAPS) in North West and Bojanala Platinum would like to sensitise motorists about hijacking incidents occurring in the district. This comes after numerous cases of car and truck hijackings were recently reported and vehicles such as Toyota and Volkswagen targeted.
In a case registered in Brits on Thursday, 12 June, a truck driver was hired to collect a machine at Pendoring Road. Upon arrival at the place, he was attacked by two unknown males who pointed him with a firearm and forced him to drive away from the scene.
MUTHI MURDER - Three suspects arrested
BRITS POS – BRITS - The North West Acting Provincial Police Commissioner, Major General Patrick Asaneng has commended the Brits Detectives, supported by Hartbeespoortdam Crime Prevention for the arrest of three men who will be charged with murder that was allegedly committed in 2023, after the mutilated, partly burnt and badly decomposed corpse of the then 20-year-old young woman, Gontse Makhubela who had been reported missing by her family, was recovered at a refuse dumping site in Elandskraal, Brits on Thursday, 23 November 2023.
