BRITS POS – BRITS – In the recent week, from Monday, 19 August to Sunday, 25 August, 1 139 suspects were nabbed during Operation Shanela. 
“The suspects who include 198 suspected undocumented persons, were arrested for various crimes ranging from rape, murder, attempted murder, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm and common, dealing in drugs, illegal dealing in liquor, possession of drugs, burglary at business and residential premises to driving under the influence of alcohol,” says Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, SAPS North West spokesperson.

BRITS POS – MARIKANA – On Monday, 19 August around 18:00 an armed Cash-in-Transit robbery took place along the N4 Bakwena Highway near Marikana, west of Brits.
Residents could hear volleys of shots being fired.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Tinyiko Mathebula, spokesperson for SAPS Hawks North West, two security officers were robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. According to information, the officers were driving to Rustenburg on the N4 road near the Marikana off-ramp when a black Mercedes Benz hit the cash in transit truck from the back and forced it off the road.

BRITS POS – KLIPGAT – A 15-year-old learner had been arrested on Wednesday, 14 August, by Klipgat police after he was found in possession of a firearm and six live rounds of ammunition. 
According to information, police were dispatched to the school following the call from the principal.  On arrival, the principal showed the police a firearm, ammunition as well as the learner who was allegedly found in possession of the items. The learner allegedly told the police that the firearm belongs to his brother who has gone missing.
