RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The diligent Rustenburg Trio Task Team, achieved success when they apprehended a 40-year-old wanted suspect on Thursday, 10 April, after a warrant of arrest was issued.
It is alleged that the convict did not abide by his parole conditions after being found guilty of rape committed in October 2012.
Suspect arrested for unlicensed firearm and ammunition
RUSTENBURG HERALD - BOITEKONG - On Monday, 14 April, members of Boitekong SAPS, acting on intelligence, arrested a 40-year-old suspect in Sunrise Park Extension 11 for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
A joint operation with Boitekong Crime Prevention led to the search of the suspect’s residence, where an incomplete 9mm pistol, 18 rounds of rifle ammunition, and 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition were discovered hidden inside a steel bin.
Councillor points firearm at disgruntled community
RUSTENBURG HERALD - MERITING - In a developing story that is circulating on social media, the community of Meriting Extension 2, is up in arms after an ANC Councillor’s disregard of their demanding of proper service delivery.
In a statement sent to the Rustenburg Herald, the Meriting community called upon their Ward Councillor, Zenele Xhinela, on Sunday, 6 April, “for service delivery and fair treatment.”

Two rape accused sentenced
RUSTENBURG HERALD - TLHABANE/MOGWASE - Two rape accused, Elvis Tause (38) and Edward Molefi Molati (51) were recently sentenced by the Tlhabane and Mogwase Regional Courts respectively.
In the first conviction on Thursday, 27 March, the Tlhabane Regional Court imposed a double life sentence on Elvis Tause (38), for twice raping his landlord’s 13-year-old daughter on the same day in May 2018, in Platinum Village in Phokeng.

Foreigners arrested and mining equipment seized
RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The ongoing Vala Umgodi operations continue to deal effectively with illicit mining and related crimes in the Bojanala Platinum District.
This comes after the Vala Umgodi deployment confiscated two excavators and several other illegal mining equipment that were found abandoned at Bapong illegal mining site in the policing precinct of Mogwase on Thursday, 20 March.
Kick-off of Safer Easter Operation on N4
RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The Executive Mayor of Rustenburg, Ms Shiela Mabale-Huma, alongside the Acting Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2 Commissioner, Brigadier Mamotsamai Ntoagae, officially launched the Safer Easter Safer Operation on the N4 near Kroondal last Thursday, 20 March. The operation, which runs until 5 May, aims to enhance safety and security during the Easter holiday period.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Patrick Pogisho Shikwane (53), Leslina Olga Ndlovu (45), the former Chief Financial Officer of Bojanala District Municipality; Patrick Tlhapi (53), the Bojanala District Municipality Chief Whip; Gontse Kekana (39), the Secretary to the former Municipal Manager; and Mantsho Gloria Moremi (38), a service provider, appeared in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 18 March.
