RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The diligent Rustenburg Trio Task Team, achieved success when they apprehended a 40-year-old wanted suspect on Thursday, 10 April, after a warrant of arrest was issued. 
It is alleged that the convict did not abide by his parole conditions after being found guilty of rape committed in October 2012.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - BOITEKONG - On Monday, 14 April, members of Boitekong SAPS, acting on intelligence, arrested a 40-year-old suspect in Sunrise Park Extension 11 for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
A joint operation with Boitekong Crime Prevention led to the search of the suspect’s residence, where an incomplete 9mm pistol, 18 rounds of rifle ammunition, and 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition were discovered hidden inside a steel bin.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - MERITING - In a developing story that is circulating on social media, the community of Meriting Extension 2, is up in arms after an ANC Councillor’s disregard of their demanding of proper service delivery. 
In a statement sent to the Rustenburg Herald, the Meriting community called upon their Ward Councillor, Zenele Xhinela, on Sunday, 6 April, “for service delivery and fair treatment.” 

RUSTENBURG HERALD - SWARTRUGGENS - A crucial four-hour meeting recently took place in Swartruggens, bringing together the town’s Mayor, Municipal Manager, and senior officials responsible for services and infrastructure. 
The meeting followed the unveiling of the new Achievement Board alongside the N4, which reflects performance ratings on municipal service delivery.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Ontvoering vir ‘n losprys is ‘n bedreiging wat wêreldwyd toeneem en volgens die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPS) se jaarlikse misdaadsyfers het ontvoerings met 264% toegeneem, van 2 692 in 2014/15 tot 17 061 in 2023/24. In Suid-Afrika het lospryse-eise al die R150 miljoen-kerfstok gehaal en al hoe meer verskeringsmaatskappy bied nou opsies vir beskerming teen hierdie tipe misdaad.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Die VF Plus het die vonke behoorlik laat spat tydens ‘n raadsvergadering van die Rustenburg-plaaslike munisipaliteit (RLM) in repliek op ‘n mosie van wantroue in die VF Plus-voorsitter van die munisipale finansiële oorsigkomitee (MPAC). Die ANC het in samespanning met die EFF ‘n wantrouemosie in die VF Plus-voorsitter ingestel.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - TLHABANE/MOGWASE - Two rape accused, Elvis Tause (38) and Edward Molefi Molati (51) were recently sentenced by the Tlhabane and Mogwase Regional Courts respectively. 
In the first conviction on Thursday, 27 March, the Tlhabane Regional Court imposed a double life sentence on Elvis Tause (38), for twice raping his landlord’s 13-year-old daughter on the same day in May 2018, in Platinum Village in Phokeng.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Vier jaar nadat ‘n jong Rustenburger tydens ‘n geselligheid in ‘n sportlokaal van ‘n bekende skool doodgeslaan is, is die man wat daaraan skuldig bevind is dat hy vir Darius Botha se dood verantwoordelik was, vandeesweek ‘n vonnis van 12 jaar gevangenisstraf opgelê. 
Die saak is vroeër vandeesweek - Maandag, 31 Maart - na ‘n lang en uitgerekte verhoor wat deur baie probleme, doodloopstrate en krisisse gekenmerk was, uiteindelik afgehandel, het Botha se familie vandeesweek aan Rustenburg Herald gesê.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The ongoing Vala Umgodi operations continue to deal effectively with illicit mining and related crimes in the Bojanala Platinum District. 
This comes after the Vala Umgodi deployment confiscated two excavators and several other illegal mining equipment that were found abandoned at Bapong illegal mining site in the policing precinct of Mogwase on Thursday, 20 March. 

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The Executive Mayor of Rustenburg, Ms Shiela Mabale-Huma, alongside the Acting Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2 Commissioner, Brigadier Mamotsamai Ntoagae, officially launched the Safer Easter Safer Operation on the N4 near Kroondal last Thursday, 20 March. The operation, which runs until 5 May, aims to enhance safety and security during the Easter holiday period.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Patrick Pogisho Shikwane (53), Leslina Olga Ndlovu (45), the former Chief Financial Officer of Bojanala District Municipality; Patrick Tlhapi (53), the Bojanala District Municipality Chief Whip; Gontse Kekana (39), the Secretary to the former Municipal Manager; and Mantsho Gloria Moremi (38), a service provider, appeared in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 18 March.
