Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The police arrested 994 suspects between November 10 and 16 November, across all five districts, for a variety of crimes.
The arrests are building a strong foundation for the Safer Festive Season Operations, to address the heightened risk of criminality associated with increased movement of people and elevated social activity. Out of the 994 arrested suspects, it is worth noting that 366 were arrested by the detectives as those on the circulated wanted suspects’ lists. Additionally, the operations resulted in the arrest 15 Illegal immigrants.
Hospital hopes to clear surgical backlog soon

The Department of Health’s Tebogo Lekgwethane laid the problems experienced at the hospital at the foot of a high patient load experienced at the hospital. “The Orthopaedics Department is experiencing a critical shortage, primarily due to an exceptionally high patient load that significantly exceeds its catchment area - drawing patients from the North West, Free State, Northern Cape, Gauteng, and neighbouring countries.’’

Tshepong Hospital: Orthopaedic doctors idle due to unpaid debt

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - That there is a crisis at the Klerksdorp Tshepong Hospital Complex’s Orthopedic Ward is no longer in dispute.
It has been confirmed by doctors, patients, and suppliers that there has been a total operational shutdown since the end of October. Klerksdorp Record has uncovered a staggering financial gridlock: suppliers are refusing to provide crucial medical hardware due to an outstanding debt an agent says has rung up to nearly R25 million owed by the Department of Health.
