RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG – The murder case of Jacques Ricardo Gibson continued on Friday, 7 November, at the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court.
Gibson, who was 44-years-old at the time of the incident, was reportedly fatally shot in front of the main gate of his property in Rustenburg East-End, on Thursday, 14 March 2024. His 18-year-old daughter was the only eye witness to the crime, which left the entire family devastated.

According to information received at the time of the incident, Gibson sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The alleged shooter, Sello Rakgoale, was subsequently traced and arrested later that evening at his home in Tlhabane. He made his appearance before the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 25 March 2024 and was granted bail of R3 000.
According to North West National Prosecuting Authority’s spokesperson, Sivenathi Gunya, the matter was postponed to Friday, 16 January 2026 and will be heard at the Regional Court. Bail, which was fixed at R3 000, has also been extended. Keep an eye on the Rustenburg Herald for more on this story.
