RUSTENBURG HERALD - SUN CITY - It’s time for resort guests and community members to get active and promote mental health at Sun City on Sunday, 26 October.
Resort guests as well as members of the public, are invited to lace up their takkies and get on their bicycles for the annual GM Kasi Ride at Sun City and vibrant surrounding areas.
The route takes participants from the resort to the rural townships of Mogwase, Mabele-a-podi and Ledig. They can take their pick from a 43km or 21km cycle, a 21km half marathon, or a 10km run. For fun, there is a 5km walk or run. Whether running, walking or cycling, the event unfolds within the stunning Sun City Resort and the neighbouring communities, providing participants with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of the locale.
The GM Kasi Ride embodies Sun City's commitment to promoting health and wellness inclusively and making a difference in the communities in which it operates. The event's core purpose is to raise awareness about mental health, with an engaging programme featuring activations, guest speakers and entertainment.
“We invite everyone – from cycling and running clubs to schools and communities – to join us in making this event a memorable celebration of community while raising the importance of physical exercise and mental health,” says Sun City GM Brett Hoppé.
For those who enjoy aerobics as their fitness regime, a group class starts at 09:00. Last year’s event was a high-energy and fun event, and it will be repeated this year. The event is free to enter and is open to all ages. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Register at www.suncitykasiride.com by midnight on Sunday, 5 October 2025 or for any enquiries WhatsApp 061 011 7036.
