NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - The Minister of Finance has, in accordance with the Financial Sector Regulation Act 9 of 2017 (FSR Act) and on the recommendation of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), placed Ditsobotla Primary Savings and Credit Co-operative Bank Limited (DCB) in resolution with effect from 1 August. The SARB has recommended the intervention to protect the interests of DCB’s depositors.

Girlfriend sentenced for murder
NOORDWESTER – BIESIESVLEI - Sophie Gadifele Mosing (34) was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by the Lichtenburg Regional Court. Four years of sentence was suspended for five years on condition that she does not commit a similar offence during suspension. Mosing was found guilty of the murder of 27-year-old Lele Andries Mogwase, who was her boyfriend. Mosing was also declared unfit to possess a firearm according to Section 103 (1)(a) of Firearm Control Act, Act 60 of 2000.

Passing out of newly trained constables
NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - The Provincial Commissioner of Northern Cape, Lieutenant General K Otola, recently presided over the passing out parade at SAPS Academy Mankwe in North West.
A total of 286 newly trained police constables, of which 215 were females, stood on parade at Mankwe Academy in the North West to begin their journey in service of the people of South Africa.
