NOORDWESTER – BIESIESVLEI – The Spiritual Crime Prevention Forum provided leadership by engaging different churches in order to attend a dual service at Uniting Dutch Reformed Church in Itekeng.
The organisation was accompanied by Community Police Forum (CPF), Community in Blue Patrollers, Sector two CPF Sub-Forum, Orphans Vulnerable Child Care, Youth Crime Prevention Desk and members of the Local Ward Committee observing the crucifixion of Christ through the seven statements from the cross.

South Africans saying goodbye to bank cards
NOORDWESTER - LICHTENBURG - Many of South Africa’s major banks have recently seen significant increases in digital wallet adoption and usage.
The trends show more people are becoming comfortable with using their smartphones or smartwatches to transact rather than using physical bank cards. Digital wallets allow users to securely link their card details to a mobile app on devices with a near-field communications (NFC) chip. They can then make payments by tapping or holding the NFC-capable device near any contactless-enabled payment terminal.
Coordinated efforts lead to the arrest of kidnapping suspects
NOORDWESTER – WOLMARANSSTAD- Coordinated and rapid response to a kidnapping incident by various South African Police Service (SAPS) National and Provincial units resulted in the arrest of five suspects on Sunday, 5 April.
The members were activated following a kidnapping for ransom incident reported on Friday night, 4 April, in Wolmaransstad. Subsequent negotiations led the team to Welkom and Virginia in the Free State Province where five suspects were arrested and a male kidnapping victim, aged 39, was rescued unharmed.
