NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - The enhanced crime prevention and combating weekly high-density Operation Shanela 2 operations conducted between Monday, 6 and Sunday, 12 October, culminated in the arrest of 1 454 suspects for different transgressions across the province.
The operations, among others, focused on stop and searches, roadblocks, vehicle check points (VCPs), high-visibility patrols including foot patrols, the tracing of wanted suspects, the confiscation of illegal firearms as well as visits to liquor outlets and taverns.

Sy wil aan ieder en elk wat hulle ondersteuning deur die jare gegee het, hoe klein of hoe groot, baie dankie sê, omdat hierdie mense en besighede só ‘n groot verskil in die gemeenskap gemaak het.
An-Mari do Carmo wen tweede “Woordveertjie”
NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - An-Mari do Carmo is ’n bekroonde skrywer, boekwurm, redakteur en vele meer. Sy het as ’n tuisskoolkind op ’n plaas naby Lichtenburg grootgeword, en het elke week twaalf boeke by die dorpsbiblioteek uitgeneem én gelees.
Haar liefde vir lees het vinnig omgesit in ’n liefde vir skryf. Sy het haar graad in BA Taal en Literatuurstudie by die NWU-Potchefstroom behaal, met ’n fokus op skryfkuns.
GROGL invites men and young boys to Frank Talk Engagements
NOORDWESTER - LICHTENBURG – Dr Daniel Buthelezi, President of God; Restore Our Good Life (GROGL) is on a mission to transform the characters of men and young boys.
GROGL will host Frank Talk Engagements on 17–18 October at Christian Revival Centre (CRC) Boikhutso, Lichtenburg, starting at 09:00 (registration at 08:00). The theme is “Building peaceful and respectful society under young people’s composure” and admission is free.

NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - Police stations from Biesiesvlei, Coligny, Itsoseng, Lichtenburg, K9 and Local Criminal Record Centre (from the Ditsobotla Service Point) demonstrated unity in diversity, cultural heritage, and reflection on national identity through shared traditions, poems, dance, cultural dishes and languages on Friday, 3 October, at Itsoseng stadium.
