Klerksdorp Record, Orkney - The Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality is steadfast on community skills development, particularly youth within its borders. Evidence to this is a novel partnership with the Department of Employment and Labour, and KST Multimedia, a skills development training institution focusing mainly in the media development space.
The three institutions are in a public private partnership to offer media skills to 200 youth from both City of Matlosana and JB Marks Local Municipalities.

Hennie Prinsloo (63) is op Sondag 17 Augustus oorlede. Hy is op Vrydag 15 Augustus in Wilmed Park opgeneem nadat hy by die huis geval en ‘n heup gebreek het.
Sy vrou, Lindie en kinders is hartseer, maar het berusting. Hennie wat aan Parkinsons se siekte gely het, het drie weke gelede gehoor sy kanker is terminaal en daar is niks meer wat dokters kan doen nie. Sy seun, Clinton, vertel dat sy pa die laaste paar jaar hard baklei het teen kolonkanker. “Ons is bly hy is verdere lyding gespaar. Dit was nie vir hom maklik nie, veral nie die laaste paar dae in die hospitaal nie.’’
Beloved police officer passes away
Klerksdorp Record, Potchefstroom - The North West police community is mourning the loss of Captain Mpho Manyoba (47), a dedicated SAPS spokesperson who was stationed in Potchefstroom.
According to Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, her commanding officer, she passed away at about 11:00 on Saturday morning August 16.
According to information received it is believed that she suffered a heart attack.
“It is with regret and great sadness that we are informing you of the death of one of our own, Captain Manyoba. May her soul rest in peace,” said Mokgwabone in a short message to members of the North West Police communication group.
Captain Manyoba was well known and loved among her peers.
High ranking visit to Rotary clubs

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The District Governor of Rotary visited the local Rotary clubs recently.
During Steve Shone’s visit to Klerksdorp Rotary he delivered an inspring address reminding members of the importance of sharing their Rotary story with the world - because if they don’t tell it, who will?
He left them reflecting on a powerful question: “What is your hashtag?”
Klerksdorp Rotary also introduced their German exchange student, Theo Weidinger, to the DG, who is already bringing fresh energy and perspective to the club family.
