RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Rustenburg Library held a colour-in competition on 7 February 2024 in conjunction with Viva Primary School for the foundation phase learners. The competition was divided into three age categories (5-6, 7-8 and 9-10). A total number of 40 learners participated in the competition and the award ceremony was held on Wednesday 28 February. The competition is one of the library activities used to drive the love of reading and to develop life-long reading. Learners are also encouraged to develop talents beyond learning in the classroom and to discover hidden talents in the arts.

It is the desire of the Unit Library and Information Services to encourage children at a young age to use libraries, they wish to encourage pre-schools and primary schools to visit their nearest libraries to arrange for participation in different activities (Storytelling, Library Orientation, Toy Sessions, Holiday Programmes, Talks, Reading Activities etc).
