RUSTENBURG HERALD - MOGWASE - On Monday 26 May, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mogwase proudly welcomed learners from Tidimane Secondary School and Raphurele Secondary School as part of the nationwide Take a Child to Work campaign.

According to Sgt Ofentse Mokgadi, Rustenburg police Spokesperson, the initiative aimed to expose both girl and boy learners to real-life working environments and to encourage them to explore potential career paths within the SAPS.
The learners participated in a structured job-shadowing programme that included presentations, station tours, and interactive sessions with various SAPS units.
During the day, learners had the opportunity to engage with members from departments such as Crime Prevention, Visible Policing, Detectives, and Administration. Officers explained their daily responsibilities, career progression opportunities, and the academic and physical requirements necessary to join the service.
Sgt Mvundla of Mogwase SAPS, highlighted the significance of early career exposure. The learners expressed excitement and appreciation for the opportunity, noting how the experience gave them a deeper understanding of law enforcement and the diverse roles within SAPS.
The Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2 Commissioner, Brigadier Mamotsamai Ntoagae applauded the police in Mogwase for their dedication to youth empowerment and extended sincere thanks to the participating schools, educators, and learners for making the event a success.
