RUSTENBURG HERALD - PHOKENG – In a statement issued on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, the Royal Bafokeng Nation (RBN) has warned members of the community and businesses of fraudulent messages currently circulating on WhatsApp and possibly other platforms. These messages falsely claim to come from the Royal Bafokeng Administration (RBA) or the RBN and ask for payments for meetings, registrations, documents or similar activities, often targeting companies and business owners.
Please be assured that:
• These messages are not from RBA or RBN officials
• The RBN /RBA do not request payments via WhatsApp or other unofficial platforms
• Such messages should be ignored and deleted
To protect yourself and others, always check that information claiming to come from the RBN or the RBA has been shared through official channels or authorised representatives before responding or making any payment.
