BRITS POS – BRITS - The South African Police Service (SAPS) in North West and Bojanala Platinum would like to sensitise motorists about hijacking incidents occurring in the district. This comes after numerous cases of car and truck hijackings were recently reported and vehicles such as Toyota and Volkswagen targeted. 
In a case registered in Brits on Thursday, 12 June, a truck driver was hired to collect a machine at Pendoring Road. Upon arrival at the place, he was attacked by two unknown males who pointed him with a firearm and forced him to drive away from the scene.

BRITS POS – BRITS - The North West Acting Provincial Police Commissioner, Major General Patrick Asaneng has commended the Brits Detectives, supported by Hartbeespoortdam Crime Prevention for the arrest of three men who will be charged with murder that was allegedly committed in 2023, after the mutilated, partly burnt and badly decomposed corpse of the then 20-year-old young woman, Gontse Makhubela who had been reported missing by her family, was recovered at a refuse dumping site in Elandskraal, Brits on Thursday, 23 November 2023.

BRITS POS - MAJAKANENG - In the early hours of Wednesday morning, 6 August, the South African Police Service (SAPS) executed a very successful intelligence led multidisciplinary Cordon and Search operation in Majakaneng, east of Mooinooi near Brits.
“The operation, which was led by the  Deputy Provincial Commissioner: Policing, Major General Olifant, and the District Commissioner of Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 1, Major General Mosimanegape, comprised of more than 200 officers and members of the South African Police (SAPS) from the Public Order Police (POP), Tactical Response Team (TRT)  Mounted police,  K9-handlers and dogs, Visible Policing, Detectives as well as other PROVJOINTS departments and Force multipliers from ESKOM, Immigration, Private Security Companies and Mooinooi members of the Community In Blue,” says  Captain Mpho Manyoba, SAPS North West spokesperson.

BRITS POS – GROENKLOOF - Services must be paid for, claims Eskom, but that is not true for residents in the Groenkloof area, next to Majakaneng.
According to owners, this issue has been with Eskom for years, without any actions/solutions and enough is now enough.
Eskom reported the primary cause of the outages to Majakaneng is overloading of the local electricity network, which has necessitated the implementation of load reduction measures to prevent system failure.
