Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has allocated a combined R252.090 million towards strengthening agricultural support, food security, and rural livelihoods in the 2025/2026 financial year. Of this amount, R185.227 million has been set aside for the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) Conditional Grant, while R66.863 million is earmarked for the ILIMA/Letsema Conditional Grant.
Suspect linked to burglary at gun shop
Lentswe, Stilfontein - The police’s Vala Umgodi teams are on a quest to eradicate illegal firearms. Two suspects were arrested in the area with one being linked to a burglary at a local firearm dealer. Ndumiso Sithole was expected to appear in the Stilfontein Magistrate’s Court this week, after his arrest last week on charges of attempted murder, robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Police active throughout NW
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The police had a busy time at the end of July with 1 778 suspects arrested throughout the province. As part of stamping the authority of the state, High Density Operation Shanela 2 operations conducted between July 14 and 27 resulted in various arrests for different transgressions across the province.
