RLM at risk of losing R1 billion in equitable share allocation
RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Notwithstanding the fact that the Rustenburg Local Municipality (RLM) has been faced by a rather desperate situation with regard to its continuing struggle against municipal arrears amounting to very close to R5.3 billion (if not more) as result of a culture of non-payment since 1994, the municipality is currently at risk of jeopardising its December 2025 equitable share allocation of some R940 000 000 by the National Treasury.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - SANDFONTEIN - Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, accompanied by the Premier of the North West Province, Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi, the MEC for COGTA, Gaoage Molapisi, as well as the BPDM and MKLM Mayors and Bakgatla Ba Kgafela Kgosi Nyalala Pilane, recently embarked on a ministerial Electricity and Energy visit to Sandfontein as part of the Accelerated Load Reduction Eradication Programme.

RUSTENBURG – PHOKENG - Police in Phokeng have launched an investigation following the discovery of the body of a 27-year-old woman at her residence in Punodung Section on Sunday night, 16 November. According to Sgt Ofentse Mokgadi, Rustenburg police spokesperson, preliminary reports indicated that on that fateful evening, police received a complaint regarding an alleged murder.
