Karatekas van die Johan van Tonder Karateklub het Noordwes TISKA (“Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association”) tydens die SA TISKA-karatekampioenskappe verteenwoordig en puik gevaar. Die toernooi het op 18 en 19 Oktober by die Noordwes Universiteit in Potchefstroom plaasgevind. Shihan Sahota (8ste Dan) van Engeland en ook die TISKA Internasionale-hoof was teenwoordig. RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The Tour de Pilanesberg was held this weekend (26-27 October), organised by Perry Dell of the Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust. All funds raised go towards rhino conservation and anti-poaching efforts.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - On 20 October, the Rustenburg Cycling Club members participated in the Amashova National Classic Race, which is the oldest Road Classic cyclist race in South Africa.
The day was made difficult with cold, rain and wind. Alta Lombaard (time 03:00 EBL - 106km), Michelle Stringer (time 03:00 EBL - 106km), Johan Raath (time 3:23 - 106km), Danie Lombaard (time 02:49 EBL - 106km) and Johan Roos (time 03:03 - 106km).

RUSTENBURG HERALD - PHOKENG - On Saturday, 19 October, fifteen excited members of Happy Feet Ballet (hip-hop category) were awarded their North West colours in Dance Sport in the auditorium at Lebone College II. Nasha Marais, Managing Director of Happy Feet, opened the proceedings stating that she was “incredibly proud” of the dancers and that they should all be “grateful to celebrate” their achievement as they are “doing what they love”.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - SWARTRUGGENS - Swartruggens Gekombineerde Skool se Boogskietspan het vanaf 25 - 28 September aan die SA-boogskietkampioenskappe in Kimberley deelgeneem en die agt skuts van die skool wat deelgeneem het, het pragtige resultate opgelewer.
Ruggies se graad 11-leerling, Vian de Beer, is gekies vir die Knypkoppe van die Noordwesspan en het sy provinsie suksesvol met ‘n telling van 280 verteenwoordig.
