This after the District Municipality soccer team proceeded to the finals at the South African Municipal Sports and Recreation Association (SAMSRA) Provincial Games held from 6 - 9 June 2024, at the Moses Kotane Local Municipality sports grounds.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The 1st rugby team of Sibanye Stillwater was not on the winning side during its clash against Welkom Rovers in Welkom last weekend.
Sibanye returned to Rustenburg with a loss of 43 - 27 after leading at halftime with 20 - 19. Too many mistakes in the second half, as well as an intercept try cost Sibanye the game, coach Joel Scherman told Rustenburg Herald on Monday.
F1 Club takes honours on water
RUSTENBURG HERALD - ORKNEY - The first round of the battle of the clubs was completed with resounding success at the Vaal River Boating Club on Sunday, 19 May.
The event started with the 60km mini long haul, that was run up and down the river in an exciting race. Jono Schmidt (M35) who showed some incredible high speeds, unfortunately had to pull out of the race because of a cracked block. This caused a damper on the event, as everybody was waiting to see the long-awaited challenge between him and the current world champion, Klerksdorp adrenaline, junkie Renier le Roux.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - ZWARTKOPS - Warm autumn skies greeted spectators and competitors alike on Saturday, 18 May, when the National Extreme Festival made its way to Zwartkops Raceway for the third round of the 2024 season.
For Rustenburg's Pocket Rocket - Michael van Rooyen - the day ended as a memorable one, since it's been quite some time since Van Rooyen found himself up on the winners podium. Robert Wolk (Chemical Logistics BMW 128ti) had no sooner led the South African Touring Cars field away from pole position when the safety car was deployed to allow the marshals to recover Roberto Franco’s Graphix Supply World Polo SupaCup from the gravel trap on the exit of the first turn.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Veané Nel is 'n vyftienjarige doedie van Rustenburg wat jy nie sommer sonder handskoene moet aandurf nie - nie net gaan jy dalk seerkry nie, maar boonop gaan jy waarskynlik jou Moses teëkom.
Hoewel Veané maar net oor die vyf voet in haar sokkies staan, neem sy reeds sedert Februarie vanjaar in die O/18-afdeling van die African Strongmen Union se kompetisies deel en hier vaar sy buitengewoon goed.
