To quality for an entry, you have to reside in or around Rustenburg and there are four categories, defined by age. Mr and Miss Teen Rustenburg entrants have to be between 15 and 19 years of age and entrants for Mr and Miss Rustenburg have to be between 20 and 45 years of age.

The emphasis is on redirecting public perception in regard to the benefits of rehabilitating offenders versus punishment and highlighting the benefits of rehabilitation and effective social reintegration.

SAPS celebrates Casual Day with people challenged by disabilities
RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - On Friday, 6 September, the South African Police Service (SAPS) Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2, celebrated Casual Day under the national theme “ I see you” with the Bessie Mpelegele Ngwana School (Children living with Disabilities) at Rustenburg North.
The day’s proceedings were coordinated by SAPS Employee Health and Wellness services and led by Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Mamotsamai Ntoagae, started in the morning at Rustenburg North by donating groceries and toiletries at the centre and thereafter went to celebrate with the SAPS members who had gathered at a local park.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - KGASWANE - Nature enthusiasts in the Bojanala Platinum District Municipality will be all too aware that the popular Mahala Week is currently being observed in a deserving initiative by the North West Parks & Tourism Board in order to promote a number of objectives by NWPTB.
Mahala Week as it is known, entails free entry for all visitors during normal visiting hours for the week 15 to 22 September and hopes to involve North West and Bojanala communities to become increasingly involved in celebrating and promoting the true essence of South Africa’s heritage during the appropriately dubbed Heritage month of September.
